For the "Record"

Okay, so there was sort of a reason for my recent lack of posting: I was renovating my archives. You may have seen the link in my profile before - with a random list of stuff I've seen by director - but it's totally different now.

Ladies and gentlemen, The Valley Record.

The new design and format was "inspired" by the awesome Dave's Victim's Movies by Year - though he let me do it, and even helped me a little. Basically, it consists of every single film I've ever seen by year. It's not as monumental as it sounds, LOL. It did take me a week to complete, though. Hence my lack of posting here (I already said that). Sometimes I'm a little stunned by stuff that I have seen, or the amount of stuff I've seen in a given year - positively OR negatively. Both are good. Also, some modern years have current major Chloe standings, which was a little fun trying to figure out. You can almost feel the drooling fanboyism through the screen. I so need to see more.

Which reminds me! The reason I decided to not take comments off the posts were because if you or anyone wants to comment on any year in any way - what I've seen, what I haven't, the Chloes, etc - feel free to. I've never been shy to feedback and criticism, especially when it comes to seeing more films.

So! What does everyone think of it?

Pretty awesome!

I'm so lazy that I'm already content with the IMDb vote history page.

I saw Dave's record recently and was impressed by it, too. My own review index is in the works, but what format it will take, I have no idea. Excellent job with yours. Nice clean look.

Wow. That is frickin' epic.

The thing is, with me, is that only for like the last two years (when I became a cinephile haha)have I been recording and tracking every film I've seen. Yet, there are a handful I've seen prior to the past two years. I don't know. I'll have to really think (what a drag...) about EVERY movie I've EVER seen. Fun.

So, yeah, I'm so envious of that page. It is absolutely stunning and something that will really be a great tool for years to come for you.

@Marcy: Lol. I would never in a billion years trust my IMDb vote history. I think I just thoroughly misunderstand the way to rate things, LMAO.

@Fletch: I can't wait to see yours!

@Mark: I've only been keeping an index of what I've seen since about July '07. When I was trying to figure out everything I've seen in the past, I went through IMDb awards pages, release charts on Box Office Mojo, just recalling stuff, looking at my DVDs and videos, etc. so maybe you could do try those methods. And TBH I have no way of being sure that all the films I have on there now IS every film I've ever seen. I usually, like, seem to remember something every once and a while out of habit. It's strange.

And, to say it, I also have a Word doc that is exactly what this is. Except, it's just a simple series of lists so I had to recall and look up the directors and my grades. LOL.

Oh, and thanks you guys. :)

I agree - really awesome, and really well done. I would love to have something like that, for reference/whatever purposes. It would take me way longer than a week though, I am so not good at remembering things, lol.

One day if/when I make my own, let it be known I would have been inspired by The Valley Record.

Oh my, that is just magical.
Much more organized and comprehensible than that bizarre list of movies at the right.

Wow. Way to shame the rest of us!

However will we keep up?

@Nick: *blushes*

@James: YES. I KNOW. UGGGGH. [/faux exasperation]

@Mischa: *blushes*

@David: Bitch. :P

@mB: LOL. Like I'm shaming anyone. And I'll keep up by just adding to it every time I watch a movie. It's not very complicated. *shrugs*
